CVMA Chapter 3-2 is launching a first of its kind event that focuses awareness on veteran suicide. On August 11, 2019, Chapter 3-2 is sponsoring the 2019 Pikes Peak Mission to Zero. The purpose of this event is to raise awareness and funds to support organizations whose mission is to assist and prevent veterans who are at risk. Current national statistics show the rate of veteran suicide at approximately 16 veterans per day. The more well-known number is 22 veterans per day, but that number was due to the few states that were assessed at the time. Regardless if the number is 16 or 22, we can all agree that one is too many. The 2019 Pikes Peak Mission to Zero is an effort whose goal is to stop this tragedy amongst our veteran community.
